Broad Park is a big playground at the end of Beach Road, on Broadpark Road. It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump from Waimari Beach. Bucket loads of summer fun all in one spot, and the popular Beach Cafe is just across the road.
The playground is great for older kids as the structures are big, including quite a high flying fox and slide.
Waimari Beach is patrolled in summer at the weekend by Waimari Surf Life Saving Club.
There’s a changing room and toilet block area. There’s quite a bit of street parking, a car park near the Waimari Surf Club, and another car park off Broadpark Road and Larnach Street.
We visited Broad Park and Waimari Beach in October 2015 (spring).
